Laurie started skiing when he was 6 years old on a family holiday, from then on he developed a passion for skiing which led him to start racing on dry slopes and join the Aldershot ski race team when he was 9. The following year, he was invited to train at the British Ski Academy (BSA) by Malcolm Erskine.

He skied with BSA for 10 years based in Les Houches, France. During this time Laurie’s family moved to New Zealand and where he trained with the Queenstown Alpine ski team during the Southern Hemisphere winters and continued training there after moving back to England.

At Laurie’s Olympic Games debut in PyeongChang, KOR, he placed 26th in the Slalom and 5th in the Team Parallel event.

Currently Laurie is racing on both the Europa and World Cup Slalom circuits, and going from strength to strength.
