Charlie had her first taste of skiing at the age of 3 on the slopes of Nethy Bridge golf course in the Scottish Highlands near her grandmother’s home, where it developed into a lifelong obsession. Inspired by Alain Baxter’s Olympic performance at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Charlie progressed through the Scottish Alpine Ski Team on to the British team before leaving school in 2012.

In November 2014, Charlie suffered a near career ending training crash which resulted in 4 fractured vertebrae. Her tough road to recovery culminated with selection for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Korea where Charlie finished 33rd in slalom and was part of the Team Event which finished equal 5th.

Alongside sport Charlie is studying Psychology at the University of Aberdeen and is supported both by the university and Winning Students Scotland.

During the 2021-22 season, Charlie had four top 20 finishes in World Cup events and placed 21st at the Beijing Olympics. She looks forward to building on this success for the 2022-23 winter season.

“I was pretty convinced the 2018/19 season would be my last. Now I’m achieving things that have never been done before” – Charlie Guest
