The Events

The Freestyle Snowboard events are

Halfpipe

SLOPESTYLE

BIG AIR

Events:

Halfpipe

Athletes perform tricks in a world standard halfpipe which is approximately 500 to 600 ft long with a 22ft transition.
Events:

Slopestyle

Athletes make their way down a course which can include rails, boxes and other freestyle features including hips, quarter pipes, wall rides and other freestyle jibs as well as three to four jumps.

Every course is different to challenge the technical ability and creativity of the athletes.

Big Air

Athletes use creativity and innovation to perform tricks on one single jump travelling 45-60ft from take off to landing.
Events:

Scoring

Competitors are given two runs through the course with each being marked separately out of 100.

Each athlete's best score is then ranked to give the final result.

In terms of criteria, the runs are judged with regards to difficulty, execution, amplitude, landing, variety and progression.
