Andy MacLeod Squad: GB Para Snowboard Squad Y.O.B: 1992 Adventure Andy @AdaptiveAdventureAndy Career Highlights: 7th - World Cup snowboard cross, Pyha FIN 2018 8th - World Cup snowboard cross, Pyha FIN 2018 9th - World Cup banked slalom, Landgraaf NED 2018 10th - World Cup snowboard cross, La Molina ESP 2019 Andy lost his right leg after cycling accident in 2011 when he was hit by a car travelling over twice the speed limit, which also resulted in a traumatic brain injury. Despite this, Andy returned to finish his Adventure Tourism Management degree and gained qualifications in Mountain Bike coaching and Leadership. Andy got interested in Snowboarding at university just before the accident, and soon after began competing. He achieved a top 10 result in his first ever World Cup in 2018 and has his sights set on qualification for Beijing 2022. Andy has volunteered with a number of organisations such as Disability Snowsport UK and Active Schools, encouraging younger generations and people with varying abilities into discovering the benefits that the outdoors brings. He also had the privilege of running with both the Olympic Torch in 2012 and the Commonwealth Baton in 2014.
