By 2008 she had been selected to the British Development Team, made her competitive international debut the following year and took two top-six finishes on her Paralympic debut at Vancouver in 2010. In 2011 Kelly became Britain’s first ever para alpine World Championship medallist when she won slalom silver in Sestriere, then three years later she claimed more history by winning Britain’s first-ever Paralympic gold medal in the Super G at Sochi. After competing in PyeongChang, Kelly is a three-time Paralympian, six-time World Championship medallist and has received an MBE for services to sport for people with a visual impairment. Kelly competes in the Visually Impaired B3 category. She has oculocutaneous albinism, a condition which affected the pigment of her skin hair and eyes. She has been registered blind since she was a child.
