VACANCY: Physiologist (GB Snowsport)

This role will provide the delivery and development of Physiological support to World Class Programme athletes, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to create a world class high performance training environment.

 

 

MAIN TASKS AND ACTIVITIES

 

Work with the Sports Science and Medicine team to improve performance through developing, implementing and evaluating physiological services.

 

  • Delivering physiological support to identified World Class Programme coaches and athletes from identified locations and at training venues and camps around the country and overseas where necessary.
  • Managing and leading elements of the delivery and development of physiological services and facilities for World Class Programme coaches and athletes
  • Working as part of an inter-disciplinary team delivering services to athletes and coaches.
  • The identification of performance questions and the development of solutions aimed at improving performance
  • Where appropriate identify and facilitate appropriate communication methods, including workshops, to inform and educate athletes, coaches and Performance Directors in the effective use of physiological support
  • Manage project work or applied research across the organisation as appropriate.
  • Where appropriate, attend, contribute to and provide regular reports at appropriate meetings associated with the programme

 

 

In addition to the above, the role will have a dual focus in the first 24 months:

 

  • Physiology support to the programming and testing plans for the World Class Para Nordic programme.
  • Support the creation and implementation of the physiology preparation strategy for Beijing 2022 across all Olympic and Paralympic GBS disciplines.
