Katie Ormerod continues podium streak in Mammouth

Katie Ormerod claimed a third straight world cup medal and 10th career overall podium finish in the US Grand Prix in Mammouth last weekend.

Ormerod, who has not long returned from a long injury lay-off, was in first place for much of the event after a first run of 75.83 saw her take top spot.

In the Califormia sunshine Katie saw her score bettered by the top qualifier,  Jamie Anderson, who posted a solid run which was capped by a front 720 mute which earned her a score of 83.40 and first place.

Laurie Boulin, who was second to Anderson in Aspen X Games last week, then climbed to the silver medal position with score of 76.16 to narrowly beat Ormerod to 2nd.

For Katie this is the third podium in two weeks after bronze in Laax and silver in Seisler Alm.

Ormerod, 22, took to Twitter to celebrate: "Another week another World Cup podium!! Having so much fun! This also makes it my 10th World Cup podium! Stoked to get the yellow bib again too!!"

Ormerod is also in contention for a medal in the overall freestyle standings - which consists of the slopestyle, half pipe and big air disciplines - sitting 300 points adrift of overall leader Reira Iwabuchi.

Katie will be back in action in Calgary this weekend.
