GB SNOWSPORT AND TIGNES ANNOUNCE GB ALPINE CHAMPIONSHIP DATE FOR 2021

GB Snowsport today announced that the GB Alpine Championships, to be which held in Tignes, France in 2021 will take place between March 28 and April 9 next year.

Under the new timetable the senior and junior FIS races start from March 28 through to April 4 - with the children’s Championships taking place between April 5-9, 2021.

The 2020 Championships were cancelled last month following due to the continuing spread of the COVID-19 virus as GB Snowsport’s priority was to protect the health and well-being of those competing in - or planning to attend - the event.

Vicky Gosling OBE, Chief Executive Officer of GB Snowsport, said: “These are still difficult  and challenging times as a nation and for all sports, but we are excited to be looking forward to better times back on the snow next year in Tignes for our Championships.”=

“Our annual event is the greatest celebration of British alpine skiing and a real highlight in the GB Snowsport calendar. I want to extend my thanks to all those who have worked so hard to give clarity on a 2021 date this early in the calendar and for the community of Tignes for their continued support in these uncertain times.”
